Whether you are navigating the system for the first time, generating complex sales reports, or managing your physical inventory, you will frequently encounter various acronyms and fashion industry terminology within Zedonk.

To ensure you can easily interpret your business data and workflows, we have compiled this comprehensive quick-reference guide. Below, you will find clear definitions for the standard abbreviations and industry terms used across all of Zedonk's modules, from Production and Logistics to Sales and Reporting.

Use this glossary to ensure you and your team are always on the same page when reading reports and managing your day-to-day operations!

  • AC: Active records (used in reports to filter only active items).
  • Accountancy Package: Third-party software used to manage financial accounting (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Fortnox) that integrates directly with Zedonk.
  • Allocation (Stock Allocation): The process of assigning received, available-to-pick stock to open Sales Orders, allowing you to instantly generate Pick Tickets and Delivery Notes.
  • API Key: A unique secure key generated from Zedonk used to make API calls and retrieve or push data programmatically.
  • APP: Approved.
  • ASN (Advanced Shipping Notice): A document that provides detailed information about a pending delivery. The purpose of an ASN is to notify the customer when shipping occurs and provide physical characteristics about the shipment so the customer can be prepared to accept delivery. Referred to in Zedonk as In Transit.
  • ATS (Available-To-Sell): Physical stock you have on hand in your warehouse that is not required for open Sales Orders.
  • AVG PRICE: Average product price, calculated by dividing the total price across orders by the number of orders in which it has been sold.
  • B2B Showroom: An online wholesale platform for buyers and brands to process orders (e.g., Zedonk's Digital Showroom, Joor, NuOrder, LeNewBlack).
  • Barcodes: Formats (such as EAN, UPC, GS1) used to uniquely identify product SKUs within Zedonk for scanning, inventory, and point-of-sale.
  • CCY: Currency.
  • Closing Stock (CS): All physical stock you have on hand in your warehouse not listed on Pick Tickets or Delivery Notes. (Note: In reporting filters, CS can also stand for Current Season).
  • CLS: Closed.
  • CMT (Cut-Make-and-Trim): A standard manufacturing type classification in Zedonk.
  • Connectors / Integrations: Built-in links that streamline the automated data exchange between Zedonk and third-party systems (such as e-commerce platforms, WMS, and accounting packages).
  • Cost Price: The total calculated cost to manufacture a garment (typically combining the Unit Make Cost, Raw Material Cost, Freight, Duty, and Miscellaneous costs).
  • Customer Ref.: A vendor number or specific reference number that a stockist/department store has allocated to the brand.
  • Cut Ticket: An industry term used interchangeably with a Production Order or Docket.
  • Docket: The specific name used within Zedonk for a Production Order.
  • Domestic Invoice: A standard invoice generated for clients located within the same country, typically including size breakdowns.
  • EDI (Electronic Data Interchange): A system used to process business transactions and orders electronically (e.g., Lingo EDI Connector).
  • ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning): The overarching category of business management software that Zedonk belongs to.
  • Ex-factory date: The date on which the supplier needs to keep the shipment ready and move the shipment out from the factory to hand it over to the shipment forwarder.
  • Expected Stock: The stock you will end up with if you dispatch no more to customers from that point, and just wait to receive what is currently in production.
  • Export Invoice: A detailed commercial invoice featuring all relevant customs codes (HTS, Intrastat, MID, weight, and composition) required to export goods internationally and meet customs requirements.
  • Extended Rating: The total material consumption/yield calculated for all products on a specific Production Order.
  • FG (Finished Goods / Factored Goods): A standard manufacturing type classification in Zedonk.
  • GRN (Goods Received Note): A record of goods received from suppliers shown as proof that ordered products have been received. Referred to in Zedonk as a Book In.
  • HTS Code: Harmonised Tariff Schedule code. A required customs classification code used to determine the duty rate when exporting goods (e.g., to the USA).
  • Intrastat Code: A customs classification code required for reporting logistics and goods delivered within the European Union (EU).
  • IS: In Season (used in reports to filter records from the currently selected season).
  • Linesheets: Documents (digital or PDF) that display a collection of products, complete with images, descriptions, and pricing for buyers.
  • Manufacturer: A factory that produces a finished or assembled good for the brand.
  • Margin: The gross profit percentage difference between your Cost Price and your Wholesale Price.
  • Mark-up: A multiplier or number applied to the cost price to calculate the suggested wholesale or retail price (rather than a percentage).
  • MID: Manufacturer Identification Code. A specific customs code identifying the exact factory that produced the goods, required on export invoices.
  • MSRP: Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price.
  • Order Book: A breakdown report of all sold products and open sales orders.
  • Orders: The core module in Zedonk where you add and manage Customer Sales Orders.
  • OT (Order Tracker): The central hub within a Sales Order where all related sub-documents are created and tracked (e.g., Pro-formas, Delivery Notes, and Invoices).
  • Pick & Pack List: A document generated for the logistics department to prepare the shipment of a sales order, detailing the exact products, sizes, and quantities required in the box.
  • PLM: Product Lifecycle Management.
  • PO (Purchase Order): An order raised and sent to a Supplier specifically for Raw Materials.
  • Price Lists: Dedicated lists outlining the specific Wholesale or Retail Prices assigned to different currencies.
  • Product Costing: The module in Zedonk used to cost a finished/assembled product (including variable costs like transport or duty) and automatically calculate price lists.
  • Production Analysis: A module that analyses all sold products on approved sales orders, calculating exactly what needs to be produced and allowing you to instantly generate documents for the factory.
  • Production Book In / Book Out: The inventory module used to raise new production dockets for manufacturers and receive (book in) the finished inventory.
  • Pro-forma: A demand for payment sent to a customer before shipping, or a request for a deposit needed to fund production.
  • Projected Stock (PS): A summary of your future stock position once all stock has been received from Production Orders and all Sales Orders have been fulfilled in full.
  • Rating: The material consumption calculated per 1 product (yield).
  • Relational Database: A software system where all areas of the system talk to each other.
  • Reports: The module used to extract raw data and summaries out of Zedonk into formats like Excel or CSV.
  • RM (Raw Materials): The fabrics, trims, and packaging materials required to produce your products.
  • RRP: Recommended Retail Price.
  • RT: Retail.
  • RTV (Return to Vendor): Returning goods to a supplier. Referred to in Zedonk as a Return Authorisation (RA).
  • SCM: Supply Chain Management.
  • SKU: Stock Keeping Unit.
  • Supplier: A company or factory that supplies the brand with Raw Materials (fabric, trims, packaging).
  • Tech Pack: A comprehensive document that provides the manufacturer with every detail required to produce a product, including images, fabrics, ratings, and measurements.
  • WMS (Warehouse Management System): Software used by 3PLs and warehouses to manage logistics and stock, which can be integrated with Zedonk to automate dispatch and receipt.
  • WS: Wholesale.
  • WSP: Wholesale Price.
  • WTG AVG PRICE: Weighted average unit price, calculated by the total number of units sold across all orders.
  • ZM: Zero Movement (used in reports to filter only records with stock movement).
