With the umbrella system setup you are able to have two or more Zedonk entities linked under one umbrella.
The umbrella system setup is required if you are registered (and have fiscal representation) in more than one country and want to raise documentation that has an appropriate Value Added Tax (VAT) applied on orders. You also have a choice to share suppliers, manufacturers, customers, products, raw materials and consolidate production, or keep them separate.
Overview:
With the umbrella system, you will have an additional dropdown menu, next to the season dropdown menu, which will allow you to manage two or more divisions/entities/arms of your company.
As you can see above:
- UMBRELLA INC is one division (USA)
- UMBRELLA LIMITED is the other division (UK)
The Umbrella System is typically required for businesses that need to:
- Consolidate Multiple Companies/Entities: If you're establishing new companies or entities and wish to manage them centrally within one Zedonk account, this Umbrella System can help you achieve that. It enables you to handle unique company names, addresses, VAT rates, and stock locations, ensuring all generated paperwork is precise and representative of each entity.
- Distinguish Warehouse Locations: It facilitates the division of physical warehouse locations. This ensures that all paperwork produced through Zedonk accurately reflects the originating location of the goods.
- Segment Business Divisions: The system provides a way to clearly separate different business factions, like Ready-to-Wear (RTW) and Eyewear collections.
Activation:
You can share key data points across divisions to avoid duplicate entry and updates. This includes:
- Customers
- Products
- Raw Materials
Additionally, each division can be managed independently, with its own:
- Company Details
- Separate Sales Orders and subdocuments (invoices, credit notes)
- Completely independent Stock management
