To ensure your barcode scanner works correctly with Zedonk, you need to configure it to send a special character after it reads each barcode. This character, known as a suffix, tells Zedonk to automatically process the scanned number.
Your goal is to have the scanner send the barcode's digits followed by a Return, Enter, or Tab command. This command acts like pressing the [Enter] key on a keyboard, allowing the scanned barcode to be automatically added to the "barcode/quantity" field without any manual input.
Most barcode scanners have a similar setup process. You'll need to consult your specific scanner's manual for the exact instructions. Typically, you'll scan a series of special configuration barcodes to set the desired suffix.
Once properly configured, scanning a barcode will cause the numbers to briefly appear in the "barcode/quantity" field before they are automatically processed and added.
You can scan every single product barcode

...or you can scan the product barcode once, then input the total quantity you are picking and click [Add]

The quantity you enter will be one less than the number of units added. This is because the system automatically counts the one item you've already scanned.
For example, if you scan a barcode, one unit is added [ADDED +1]. If you then enter a quantity of "4," the system adds three more units [QUANT. +3], bringing the total for that item to four.
Zedonk provides real-time feedback as you scan. It will notify you if you've reached the Expected Quantity, scanned more than what's expected, or if there's an error—such as a product that doesn't belong to this specific order.
