When a Shopify draft order reserves stock, Zedonk now imports the reservation so your next Stock Export does not put those units back on sale.
Only draft orders that reserve stock are imported. Draft orders that do not reserve stock are ignored.
Reserving stock on a draft order moves units from Available to Committed in Shopify.
How a draft order appears in Zedonk
Version 1 (Adjustments):
The draft is imported as a negative stock adjustment. The description shows the draft order number, for example Shopify Draft Order Update: #D121 (Shop location).
You can view these in Product Stock Inventory > Adjustments.
Version 2 (Retail orders):
The draft is imported as an Approved and Locked retail order. The draft order number, for example #D122, imports as the Order Reference. The order shows 'This is a Shopify Draft Order. No changes can be made.' and cannot be edited.
Version 3 (orders and adjustments):
The draft is imported as a negative stock adjustment and as an Approved and Locked retail order.
What happens when the draft changes
Draft becomes a Shopify order:
- V1: the adjustment is kept.
- V2: the order is unlocked and any sub-documents are created as per your import settings.
- V3: the adjustment is kept, the order is unlocked and any sub-documents are created as per your import settings.
Draft expires or is cancelled:
- V1: a positive adjustment puts the units back.
- V2: the sales order is Force Closed.
- V3: a positive adjustment puts the units back and the sales order is Force Closed.
Draft is edited before it is resolved:
- V1: an adjustment is made for the change.
- V2: the order is updated and stays locked.
- V3: an adjustment is made for the change and the order is updated and stays locked.
When Shopify fulfils from another location
Zedonk holds a draft order's stock at the location in the Shopify Location field of your connector Settings. If this is blank, your Shipping Origin/default Shopify location is used.
If Shopify fulfils the order from a different location, Zedonk corrects the stock when the draft becomes an order:
- V1: a positive adjustment is made at the default location and a negative adjustment at the fulfilling location.
- V2: an additional sales order is created at the fulfilling location for the lines Shopify fulfils from there.
- V3: both of the above apply.
While a draft order is open, Zedonk holds its stock at the default location even if Shopify holds it elsewhere, so an individual location can show as out of stock until the draft becomes an order.
